Its whole premise is honesty: a number it can't read shows as unavailable, never as a fabricated zero. Every critical reading has an independent ground-truth test watching it — a new reading has to agree with a system tool, never with itself.
What it watches runs from the ordinary to the not: power and thermals, per-app process rankings, disk, network (speed tests strictly opt-in), and a battery page that reports each AirPod and the case separately. The most of-this-era page is AI spend: subscription quota and balance across four providers, local Claude Code usage, and a seven-day burn curve that answers whether this week is burning faster than last.
The look is called Glass Instrument: panels that let the desktop through, colour used only to convey state (normal, warm, critical — nothing else in the interface is coloured), and monospaced digits throughout. The restraint of a precision instrument, not the noise of neon bubbles.
The road to open source is already laid: MIT licence, a security policy, third-party credits that spell out what was learned from each, and CI running the same checks as the local gate. It's at 3.0.0-beta.3, and the app window is becoming a DIY panel of components — 16 registered so far.
